Bodegas Comenge started in 1999, when the founder Jaime Comenge was seduced by the beauty of the valley. It was established in order to enjoy the unique environment, away from noise and haste; an authentic place to pamper the wine. The winery is located in Valle del Cuco, between rivers, vineyards and castles. During the ripening period there can be up to 20º differences between day and night temperatures. All vines are grown using organic methods; maintaining the plant cover, turning the vineyard into a natural garden and a diverse ecosystem. The grapes are picked by hand as the initial selection process- the first step to guaranteeing the quality of the wine. The character of the wines are cultivated using a local yeast that is isolated and selected from the vineyard.
