Located in the heart of the Bordeaux metropolis, Château Luchey-Halde is gifted with an exceptional terroir. In 1920, the Luchey estate was snapped up by the French Ministry of Defence which turned it into a military training area, preserving it from urbanization. When the French Army sold the land in 1999, Bordeaux Science Agro took the opportunity to start a vineyard from scratch. Research has allowed for optimal vineyard plantation, well adapted to the soil of the Graves region, naturally gifted for the production of great wines.

53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 12% Petit Verdot

After a cold and dry winter, spring and early summer were rather cool and humid. However, August was hot and sunny, with thermal range enabling an optimal maturation of the grapes. The nose is spicy with aromas of cocoa, blueberry, and ripe blackcurrant. In the mouth, the attack is supple and the tannins smooth. The final is long and complex with licorice and mint touches.

56% Sémillon, 34% Sauvignon blanc, 10% Sauvignon gris

After a mild and rainy winter, the growth of the vines was quick due to a good month of April. The rainy weather extended till July and August and created a slow maturity. Finally, September arrived with warm temperatures and developed grapes with small, concentrated, and aromatic berries; giving a fruity, intense, leading to fine wine. The nose is fine with notes of citrus fruit, rosemary, and white-fleshed fruit. In the mouth, the attack is supple and sharp at the same time. We find touches of citrus fruit and peach. The final is long with delicate touches of vanilla.

RED 2016

55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot

A very rainy spring and winter with a cool thermal condition led to late flowering. This delay has been largely due to offset by a warmer and drier than average summer. For the red vines, the rainfall on September 13th brought water necessary for the complete ripening of the grapes. The wines produced are intense, rich, and fruity (blackcurrant, blackberry, and blueberry). They have powerful and supple tannins. A magnificent potential!

WHITE 2015

45% Sémillon Sauvignon, 38% Sauvignon blanc, 17% Sauvignon gris

A very rainy spring and winter with a cool thermal condition led to late flowering. This delay has been largely due to offset by a warmer and drier than average summer. The resulting white wines are aromatic, lively, fresh, with nice tension and length. The nose has a beautiful minerality, completed by aromas of citrus fruits and white peaches. In mouth, we find notes of grapefruit and acacia flower.
